Milan 23/1/2013 –  There are different ways of looking at and interpreting all that surrounds us, and Margherita Lazzati has undoubtedly found one of the most original. Not only does she have a trained eye that spots details that most would miss, she also manages tocatch these details in unusual ways, creating the magic of an optical illusion. 

In the wake of successful exhibitions in Milan and her recent collaboration with the Writing Workshop at the Prison of Opera, which led to the publication of a highly poetic and artistic 2013 Calendar, Margherita Lazzati’s “mirages” have now come to Germany for an interactive photographic exhibition at the prestigious Italian Institute of Culture in Berlin. Here, 25 of the artist’s works will be on display for the public, who are invited to leave a written comment, giving their own particular impressions.

This new exhibition in Berlin, the political and cultural capital of Germany, which hosts some of the most important exhibitions of contemporary art and photography, and is home to the  Italian Institute of Culture, adds international value to this exhibition project in which the “hunter of mirages” enters into correspondence with her increasingly wide audience.

The exhibition will be opened on 20 ^th February 2013 at 7.00 pm and will remain at the  Italian Institute of Culture in Berlin (Hildebrandstrasse 2) until  15^th  March 2013, during which time it can be visited, by appointment, on Mondays to Thursdays from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm, and on Fridays from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm.

The event is being staged under the cultural patronage of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan and the Umberto Veronesi Foundation. It is sponsored by Banca Popolare Commercio e Industria, the L’Affiche art gallery in Milan, the photographic studio 2punto8, and the LACANOSA winery, which is providing the sparkling wine for the vernissage.La nuova esposizione a Berlino, capitale politica e culturale della Germania, città che ospita le maggiori mostre di arte e fotografia contemporanee, ma soprattutto l'Istituto Italiano di Cultura, aggiungerà un valore internazionale al progetto di questa mostra interattiva di corrispondenza tra la cacciatrice di miraggi e il suo sempre più vasto pubblico.
